Itzel
Programmer Analyst II

Itzel began her career at ING four years ago - and her life in Canada a year before that. With a degree in Computer Systems Engineering from the University Tecnológico de Monterrey, she was eager to translate her IT skills into a career in her new country.

“I was already familiar with ING’s progressive reputation in Mexico. But it was after my very first interview that I knew this company would be a perfect fit for me.”

What has made Itzel’s experience here such an enjoyable one? After four years, she still feels that she is in the “discovery phase” of her career.

“From my first day here, I’ve always been made to feel that I have options as far as my career path is concerned. I feel that whatever direction I decide to go with my career, ING will be here to help me make it happen.”

She is also in the enviable position of being a member of what she describes as a perfect team with a supportive manager.

“I got really lucky with ING. I have a very supportive team and we have an amazing manager. He is always appreciative of the good work we do while still giving us the flexibility to make mistakes and learn from them.”

Along with the great team she works with, Itzel really appreciates that at ING Canada you can have a life and a career.

“My friends are always envious of the flexible work arrangements that are available to us. Being in an IT support role means that I have to make sure that my time is covered when life requires I be somewhere else. Fortunately that’s rarely a problem when you have a great team who is there to support you when adjustments to your work-life balance are needed.”
