ING provides donations and community investment funding only to not-for-profit and registered charitable organizations in Canada. If your cause doesn't fall directly into either of these categories but you feel it is still relevant to ING's focus, we encourage you to apply for funding.
While we appreciate the value of every request that we receive, we cannot support every project that is presented to us. For this reason, we have carefully chosen two core focus areas where we feel our expertise and support can help to make a difference. There are also areas that we tend not to support, as follows:
- Advertising in yearbooks, handbooks, journals and event programs
- Advocacy or lobbying for narrow or specific interests
- Bequests
- Capital campaigns
- Organizations operating outside of Canada or whose beneficiaries are outside of Canada
- Organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, gender, religion or lifestyle
- Political donations, projects or programs
- Private foundations, schools or clubs
- Professional associations or societies
- Religious or faith-based projects or programs
- Commercial third-party fundraising groups
- Support for individuals or individual families
- Support of fundraising or participatory events, such as tournaments, benefits, auctions, dinners, lotteries or ticket purchases
- Travel, accommodation or meals
- Tuition or subscription fees
- Unregistered charities or businesses
