
Annick Hamelin – Team Lead – User Testing After spending six years as a programmer analyst, Annick realized she wanted to do less programming and more analysing, which led her to successfully apply for a job with belairdirect. Something that surprised Annick was how much she enjoyed learning about the insurance industry. “I never thought this would be something I would find so interesting. Now, whenever there is an opportunity to learn more, I’m there. As a Team Lead, Annick manages 10 people whose job it is to perform tests on the auto and residential software systems. One of her favourite parts of the job is coming up with new and innovative ways to improve the systems. By doing so, Annick and her team help belairdirect achieve improved customer service, which impacts the company’s profitability and growth. Annick also enjoys the variety of tasks she performs day-to-day. Her position allows her to work with people from different parts of the company on various projects. What particularly struck her about this role was the support she received from her colleagues. “I was especially pleased by the encouragement I received from my managers to try different things. This makes me eager to learn more as a team leader and take on more responsibilities.”
